The Multicultural Fair and Year Book

Last Thursday and Friday my school had it's 4th. annual Multicultural Fair. The first day consisted of seeing various shows in the theater. Second period was something, Third period was Choir, and Forth was Guitar. Those are the only three I know of, well two... Anyways I got excused from two classes to be in the Choir portion of the show. One of the classes (math) went to see the show. We were planning on doing three songs; Sir Duke, Hush, and For Good but the line up got changed and Hush was dropped for time. We sang For Good with the piano which sounded pretty. I love piano, it's probably my favorite instrument. Then it came time for Sir Duke.

At some point in choir class Mrs. Samulsz said that we can move to the music or something of that nature, my eyes lit up. I began to move natural with moves I knew. The energy in this song and the beats drive you to move with them. By the time we had done the song in class three times I had the basic routine to build off of. At one point we were video taped so we could watch ourselves and in the video the whole class is jamming out to the song. I'm front and center so I don't know whats happening behind me. Mrs. Samulsz calls out on the tape, "everyone compare yourselves to Bobby." I didn't hear it till later when we watched the tape. The funny thing is that after she said that on the tape, I started doing something really difficult with my hands. I didn't know how bald I actually look with my hair back, thank you video tape for that. The choir eventually came up with something close to what I was doing but I had no invention of shifting to match them. I can be rebellious at times if I think I'm right or doing something how I want. It was close to what everyone ells was doing.

We stood in front of the crowd as the CD track began. We were barely moving. I thought to myself, "I better do something." I'm very shy so this was a bold move for me. I went for the dance thing full force. I guess the first time the crowd cheered I got a little more energy and a little more carried away. I do think I got everyone ells in the choir dancing though which is what I intended. During the song I started doing a James Brown move were you shuffle your feet really fast. I learned awhile back that crowds love this move, this crowd was no different. We got a standing ovation.

At the end of the show we walked off the raisers to the choir room backstage. I was thinking to my self, "crap! I up staged everyone." Then I got worried that the class was going to be mad at me. I honestly didn't mean to up stage them. I'm sorry still.

On a completely different note I got my yearbook last week around Monday which was cool cause it was a week early. We were not allowed to show anyone, I didn't. I was in it alot which I secretly wanted. I even made a statement in one of the pictures (seen above). Thats the shirt from Disney Land. I think I'm gonna be asked a lot about this picture. I do love a spectacle. It's also the last 2-3 weeks of school.
